A Little About Myself
Sharbel was born in 1982 in the city of Haifa which lies on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean sea. Sharbel started his music lessons at the age of 5 and received his DMA in music composition in 2015 at the age of 35. Sharbel studied piano with Rieta Lesuchen before attending the University for Toronto. At the university he studied with John Kruspe, Christos Hatsiz and Alexander Rapoport.
In 2010, Sharbel won the Marcel Khalife award for composition, awarded by the Edward Said Conservatory in Ramallah.
Sharbel enjoys writing music for String Quartet, Piano solo, Piano trio, Choir and Orchestral music, He tends to rely on his cultural background for certain sound scape. Sharbel's music is very visual and it was described as "movie like".
Sharbel enjoys playing the music of Beethoven, Chopin and Tchaikovsky.
